Erin's zendala dare this week was pretty complex, and I tried my best to NOT fill in every blank space so it wouldn't get too busy. Moderate success with that, but I really like it.

Zendala Dare 38
It's the start of a new year with lots of new opportunities and challenges. I plan to keep working on my art, take a wonderful trip to Scotland, and attend my son's wedding. Plus the usual: lose weight, exercise more, and get more organized--like that will ever happen. :-)

A friend gave me a sliced rock to tangle. Pretty cool, huh? It was actually quite fun to do. Here's the result, along with the tangled gift bag.
Wishing everyone a happy, fulfilling, tangle-filled new year!

Love your zendala, it has a really frilly look. The rock is really cool too.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your zendala-lots of fun tangles to look at! Your rocks are so cool--how do you get sliced rocks?! The bag is great too!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty zendala - I particularly like the pointy outer edges, and your wonderful shading which really gives this zendala a lot of depth. Cool rock!
ReplyDeleteReally like how you get a really nice look with minimal fill. I always tend to till everything. Working on using more "white space".
ReplyDeleteKaren, Beautiful zendala--love the openness of it. The rocks are simply fantastic--what a cool thing to tangle!
ReplyDeleteGreat zendala and wow those rocks look like great fun to tangle! Wish youand your family a great and fabulous 2013. I am going on summer holiday to scotland too.
ReplyDeleteThere is a richness to this one....the patterns chosen and the shading make it a stand out for sure!
ReplyDeleteYour zendala is very beautiful; the balance between light and dark is great. Yes, fun to tangle on rocks!
ReplyDeleteA Lovely zendala. I like the way you have alternated the tangles in the main shapes and that you have left some empty spaces.
