Zendala Dares 40 and 42

What terrific templates Erin has been producing lately!  They really are beautiful. Here's my entry and the template for this week's Dare:

I'm still getting caught up, so I'm also posting my response to Dare 40.  This was one of my favorite zendalas ever.  I think it turned out beautifully.  When I finished with the pen, I had trouble deciding whether to shade or not.  I'm glad I did, but I like both, so I'm posting both shaded and unshaded versions.

  1. Your art is amazing! Your Zentangles are beautiful. I especially like your collage work. I think that is what collage is supposed to be.......an image made with colors that make a completely different image than what is on the paper.........not expressed very well, but I hope that you know what I mean.

  7. Wow, these are both lovely, but I 'specially like the first one. Your heartrope is stunning, love the leaves, and flux with tipple is perfect. Very eye-catching!

  8. All of your Zendalas are amazing! Such perfect execution of the tangles. I envy your steady hand. The shaded Dare 40 is my preference, although both are lovely. The hint of red in Dare 42 just makes it pop. Great work!

  10. Lovely zendalas. I prefer the shaded version of no 40. Love the touch of red in no. 42 What is that tangle in the diamond shape? An adaptaion of Verve or Crescent Moon? It is very effective in this drawing.

    1. Thanks, Celia. The tangle with the red centers in the diamond is Heartrope by Bunny Wright. It's a lovely, very easy-to-do tangle. The instructions are here: http://tanglepatterns.com/2013/01/how-to-draw-heartrope.html
